Rcv call 2/28/15, no msg left. This is a well known SCAM. If you download software from scammers claiming your computer is infected, they will be able to takeover your computer and hold your files and data hostage. They want you to pay them to unlock your computer. Having never fallen for this ruse, I heard others say they paid scammers and still never got control of their computer and lost all files.
Caller said he was from windows protection and I needed to go to his website and download his program, I told him I watch the news and I am not stupid, he then said if I watch the news I better not go to sleep tonight, I asked if he was the taliban and he said yes and I was on his hit list, I told him to come on... I have a surprise for him...
To those of you folks still receiving these foreign attempts at gaining access to your computer by directing you to a website full of malware, a simple solution is at hand and has worked every time for me. Obviously, they wish to take control and infect your computer with threats of you're computer being infected with viruses which they'll happily help you alleviate. After a few minutes of their spill and playing "dumb" with their instructions to you, simply ask what ISP or ISP# your computer is sending out these "virally"-laced emails/messages. This stops them in their track---COLD. If you're computer was doing such malicious deeds by being infected in the first place AND they are who they say they are, they'd have said info at their fingertips and at the ready. Well, they don't, of course and so the scam perpetuates onward. This kind of [***] has been going on for l literally years (as documented on YouTube, for example) that I cannot fathom more and more people fall for this. Caught, the spammer attempts to argue with you, curses at you for catching on to them, or curses you and then boldly hangs up the phone in their overcrowded Indian cubicle so their robocaller can yet annoy another on their pre-programmed list. I enjoy playing with them and leading them on, subtly dropping the bomb until they realize they've wasted their time. If they call about your Windows computer, tell them you own a Mac---and vice versa. Mess with their heads if you have the time and are so inclined. Their all scam artists and criminals. Proudly treat them as such.
OK, now they have drummed up a new scam with this same number 458-555-0132. Just called and now it is a recorded robot saying if I ignore the call this will be an initial attempt to avoid an appearance with the Mastistrate and the subject of the matter goes before the Grand Jury. I'm probably getting things all out of order as the robot was talking so fast and was talking about a Criminal matter that needs to be taken care of before I am arrested. Kindly call us back at 240-244-04777. Then goes on to say call us back before I am arrested. The call never once used my name so the robot could be talking to Cindy LuLu. Hope to hear from you soon before the charges are pressed against me. With all I read with this same number he got bored and needed to occupy himself with a different scam. Then at the end says "Thanks" in a very friendly sound. Now when does anyone receive a business call that is very formal and the person on the other end says Thanks. Like someone recorded their voice and used an app to make his voice sound like a robot. Because the message is worded so fake it's not funny.
