I also got a recording on my phone. When I called the number back, it went to a telemarketer with a very heavy Indian accent trying to get credit card information under the pretext of giving away free $100 gift cards for Walmart, but they need the customer's credit card info in order to bill for shipping.
They call, I pick up and no one is there. No background noise either. Remote dialer maybe? Caller I.D. says Frisco, TX I pay my bills on time every month. I owe nothing as far as collection goes.
It's almost Election Day.I recall receiving a call from Texas.Our son was stationed in Texas at that time.My caller id said Texas, I didn't recognize the number.I naturally became concerned thinking someone was calling on my son's behalf and there was some sort of accident.Just as I started to pick up the receiver a robo call started blabbing about problems in my state. I was living in New Jersy at the time!! I can even begin to express my outrage at this sort of spoofing, at least in polite language. I used to get tons of these calls around election time. Absolutely infuriating.I was so outraged on one occasion I picked up the phone and threatened to vote a straight ticket for the opposing party if they persisted I calling my house. My husband and I just use cell phones now, really cuts down on the b.s.
