Called the # back, only they said were they were CCA. I asked what type of business, she said personal. Told her to stop calling. She asked my name, I told her I would not give her my name only my phone #, she refused to do anything because I refused to give her my number. I hung up and blocked their damn number!
The phone number was on my caller ID. I *67ed my number and called it back to see what it was.
The person who answered said that they were not selling anything. She asked for the number i was calling from. I gave it to her with some hesitancy. She asked it I was Catherine -----. Right last name, wrong first name. She said she took me off the list.
They called a friend of mine asking for my phone number. Said they were CCA. Well CCA is a charitable organization in this area so he trusted them and gave them the phone number.
Pretty sleazy glomming off the name of a charity to do your collections work.
I answered the call and was placed on an automatic hold. When someone at the other end picked up, I could hear people talking in the background before they hung up on me. I called back and was taken out of the database and then hung up on a second time. I called back again and the person who answered told me it would be against the law to tell me what sort of business they were in. The Texas Secretary of State's corporations division was unable to provide any information, as was the statutory documents division.
