There's another thread here about these guys (caller-id-captured number mentioned in that discussion is 469-324-3402). They call almost daily, but we've never picked up. We get so many calls from solicitors and surveys that we use caller id all the time now.
I didn't call them back, but checked out google references and see that they are indeed a collection agency. Their website is at collecto.com.
The voicemail message usually sounds pre-recorded; in fact, there was an electronic hiccup at the beginning of the message the last five or six times..."this is, this is, this is, this is an important message.." or something to that effect - could be my voicemail, but it doesn't happen with any other calls. I saved all the messages and will play them again to compare text, pacing, etc.). They used my first name once, maybe twice (never said my last name), but the rest of the time they didn't say my name (once, the message was for someone with a different name).
On all calls but one, the voice at the other end has been that of the same person. He has given his name at different times as Matt Higgins or Brian Jenkins, but it is clearly the same guy.
In my previous post, just submitted, I identified the "Caller Company" as "Community Collections of America." It is "Collection Company of America." (Corporate name: Collecto, Inc.) I KNEW that, but somehow fabricated a different name for them.
