Just received the same call today...I told her to send me something to my email address dmso I could verify her company and she said she would ...Would nt send norhing tho at the moment... I did my own investigating and I found out that they are a scam..
I received a call at work from "Captain Harris from the SC State Police Department" looking for one of our former students. They said it was in reference to an Urgent Warrant Complaint and they had to call 469-327-6600 to reach the Criminal Investigation Bureau Office and ask for Michelle Collins at ext. 302. I told the person on the phone that the person did not work here and all they kept saying was "it's an urgent warrant complaint issue" and I needed to take down the information and give the student the message. I took down the info, did a search of the number, and the first thing that popped up was scam. The first red flag was how freely the person wanted to tell me what the matter was in regards to. Don't waste your time on these people. Just hang up.
Got a voice mail saying it was captain Harris (woman voice) from California state police headquarters warrants department. That they were setting up a warrant for my arrest. If I failed to contact officer Michelle Collins within the next 3 business work hours they would send their investigation officers to pick me up. She ended the message by saying I needed to call or prepared to be arrested. My caller I.D said 1-911. Had this scam happen to me before so don't be alarmed if you get a call from 911 pretty sure they have more important things to deal with than dealing with money complaints.
received same type of call about being arrested. Saying they were from the Pennsylvania state police. looked up the number they told me to call. Apparently Officer Michelle Collins works for the state police in California and SC.
