This calling number is an AT&T prepaid GoPhone account. It is one of 5 numbers reportedly being used by "United Conservation Group" [2].
A complaint has been filed with AT&T Wireless' Office of the President. I've reported (469) 394-6358 as well as two other numbers (Area code 702, in the search below), operating as "United Conservation Group". The complaint requests an investigation for violations of AT&T GoPhone Prepaid terms of service prohibiting "telemarketing activity" and for violations of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule, no automated recorded calls. AT&T's terms of service also prohibit the violation of any civil or criminal laws, e.g. the sales rule above.
Many persons at AT&T have been very nice and helpful. I'm grateful. I'll be more grateful if I hear the accounts are dead.
I think the carriers are trying to abdicate their responsibility to control their customers to the DoNotCall lists. Legislators and regulators should make it clear the the carriers that they must have an abuse department, publicly reachable, with adequate investigative authority to look up call activity of their own subscribers, and initiate investigative actions. Such centers must also respect privacy and not reveal subscriber information to reporting callers.
Funny, during my efforts I was directed to AT&T's Office of the President. The result? The general mailbox was full, no room for messages, and a disconnect. Nice, AT&T.
Receiving calls from 480-370-2692, from United Conservation Group. When I asked to remove my number, caller argued with me, threatened to make sure I continued to receive calls, made sure I knew she had my address and family members names. When I called the number back, it goes to an unassigned, empty voice mail. Filed complaint, but this really p***ed me off.
