It's a scam. They called saying my wife got approved for $5000 loan and all she needed to do was pay $380 through a moneygram wire transfer to a prepaid netspend card. The name was spelled wrong so they made her paid that amount once again $380. After she paid they transfer her to the state of Florida to tell her to be able to approve the loan she needed to pay the state a fee of $230. She fell for it and paid it, then she was transfer to another department and then she was told the bank was not approving the transfer unless she paid $780. She manage to get it lowered to $400 but then they told she needed to pay the difference which it was $380. It's the worst experience ever. She now feels horrible. Rent money and daycare money was there. Please people don't fall for it. ITS A SCAM....the parson she spoke to said his name was Jordan Williams
They got me for 799.00and then wanted another 475.00 for taxes my daughter got on the phone and this person was trying to get hèr to have phone sex with him his name was Jordon so I call consumer people and now the police are involved.
Things to remember about loans offered by phone or e-mail: (Pay attention to item #4!)
Loans
1. No reputable lender will lend you money over the phone.
2. No reputable lender will lend you money by e-mail
3. On-line lenders are nothing more than conduits for another loan scam.
4. Advance fees for loans are always illegal. At least in most American states.
5. If you want to borrow money, go to an established brick and mortar lender that has been around awhile.
6. If you receive a call from someone with an Indian accent either a. threatening you or b. offering you something, you know it’s a scam and you should hang up immediately.
7. These people are predators, the calls are not random, they have information that they have bought from various sources and know your financial history. If you have ever taken out a pay-day loan, they have all your information. They know who they are calling. They like to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and sometimes members of the immigrant community. Also, those who might be in financial difficulty.
