In the last 4 months or so, I've been getting 4 unsolicited calls, or more, per week. I guess my business phone number got onto a bad list for telemarketers.
If I don't recognize the number, I will answer in Russian. The caller asked for the boss in English, and I yell at them in Russian: "Мы не говорим по-Английски!" (We don't speak English!)
Our company received a call from this number today at 1047 hours. Caller ID showed "Acceptance Fund" and a completely unfamiliar number so I knew it was a scam/spam phone call. I picked up the receiver but said nothing. After a moment, a woman said, "Hello?" to which I replied the same. Then she asked for the boss by first name (because they're such buddies, don't you know?), speaking while smacking her gum, I might add. I told her he doesn't work in the office, could I take a message. "Oh, I don't want to bother him with a message!" she tells me cheerfully. (Apparently she has no problem with "bothering" him with her phone call though.) "I'll just try him on his cell phone." I pointed out to her that she doesn't have his cell phone. There was a pause as she digested this, apparently. "Yes, I do!" she insisted. "I have it right here." When I told her again that she doesn't have his cell phone, she hung up in my ear. She doesn't have the boss' cell phone number. It's all a load of malarkey. I have no idea why they lie about silly things like that. The next time someone makes that claim I'm going to tell them, "Gee, that's amazing, because he doesn't even HAVE a cell phone," just to see what they say. (They'll probably hang up on me. Again.)
I just had a similar call. The man on the other end of the line had the same verses. The caller ID here said ROOFTILE SLATE. So much for being on the do not call list. Time to file more complaints.
Received a call from this number. Called ID said "Acceptance Fund". She asked to speak with my boss. I said he was unavailable and asked if I could take a message. She responded that she would just call his cellphone number. I quickly asked if this was a telemarketing call to which she replied NO slammed the phone. Before she hung up I wanted to tell her not to bother him at this time because there was a death in the family but she hung up immediately after rudely shoutling NO and hanging up. That behavior says a lot about a company doesn't it?
Have been getting these calls for about a week now. ID says RoofTile Slate. I do not answer it but I will fix the caller. I recorded on my computer recorder the recording that comes on with a very loud beeping tone when your phone line is open with nobody on it. It will run for about a minute. When I get these aggravating calls after I tell them to quit they suddenly get this recording full volume right in their ear. Ears probably ring for 2-3 minutes after that and I don't get any more calls.
