I got a call from someone asking to confirm my CLSID, then walking me through checking an event count on one of my desktops for system and application. Then, he asked me to go to a page to join a remote session...the only identifying info he gave was this phone number and an id of 517513. I have no way of knowing if this is a legit service call, or someone trying to get into my network. Anybody have the same or similar ex perience?
I had a call from this # saying he was from Microsoft support & my computer keeps getting pop up warning messages he needs to fix. I don't know. I'm so sceptical
Just got a call from "Sam Richards" with Microsoft ...
Wanted me to confirm computer ID and so forth. He gave two tel numbers, when checked were coming out of Dallas. When I asked him where he was calling from he said S.A.
When I pressed for more info, he became defensive and hung up. I believe it was a total scam.
I got this call as well several times so decided to play along with him. He wanted me to get online on my computer and login so he could show me all the error messages my computer is generating. I played along for awhile and then hung up on him. I called the guy who usually does work on my computer to confirm it was a scam, WHICH IT IS!!!! Just hang up on them, a total waste of time...... my computer guys says all computers have errors and logs it in the registry, they want to show you that so they can "ASSIST" you cleaning it up at the expense to your credit card or pocket book. Don't take the bait. I think all these people need to be stopped. Way too many scammers, trust your instincts and call someone local you can take your computer to if you believe you have problems.
