Generally I have found through looking the phone numbers up that this is a Scam to try and extort money. They get your info when you sign up online for things such as Payday loans. Then they call you and tell you that you are in big trouble and that you have to pay. And that if you don't only God can help you and that they need to speak to your attorney immediately. They are using scare tatics to try and extort money from you. I would not answer if you don't recognize the number. In my state you cannot go to jail for not paying your bills. I don't know if this is case in all states. If they use and American name and have a very hard Middle Eastern accent this is definately a Scam. I have called the FBI, My state attorny General and my local law enforcement. They are very hard to track down because they usually do not call from the same phone number twice. It also can look as if they are here in the states when they are really calling form India.
They said they were from a criminal investigation unit...when I asked for proof because I didn't owe anything to a payday loan company they said have a good day and hung up on me.
Just got call from same number. But have been recieving calls from several numbers like this I don't know how to get them to stop. They are calling me at work also.This needs to stop I know it.s a skam but it still gets to me. Also calls from New York and Minnasota
This guy says hes Officer David M (something couldn't make out last name).
Says hes with the Bureau of Crime Division. I would like him to quit calling,
calls everyday sometimes 2 or 3 times. He is not English cause I can't
understand him. Thank You
