Caller claimed to be in Van Buren, Arkansas
We talked for almost a month. We met on a dating site.
I did send him $7500 Claimed he was in Africa completing a computer installation.
I am heart sick. That was all the money I had. I am so stupid. Is there anyway to catch this man?
Did same thing to me I sent 1300 through wire transfer and $12,000 through white or transfer now he's asking for $3500 because he has a broken foot and he stranded in Africa supposedly he was installing computers
The same man claiming he in Florida today (3/15/16) but will be going home to Van Buren, Arkansas by tomorrow, and claims he has a lake in Maval, Texas just gave me his name as Lorenzo and gave me his phone number when I asked him after he said he could not continue on the dating site I am on. He gave (469) 666-0291 as his phone number. Now he is asking for my phone number, but no way I am going to do that. I looked up the number and found you guys here. Thank you for the warning. Never, ever give money to a man, that's my policy.
I got the exact same story except he claimed he was in PA on business. He asked for my phone number and email as well. No way would I give it to him. The wording of his messages was way off. English is definitely not his first language. Pretty sure he's one of those African scammers. I reported him to the site administrator and had him blocked. Now he'll probably steal my pics and info to create another fake profile to scam someone else. Can't believe they are still pulling this crap. Wish there was someway to stop them.
