Caller stated that they were with HP Support and needed to gain access to our computer. Stated out IP address was sending "virus" warnings. And they needed to get into the computer to resolve. Told them they were full of schitz and that we were reporting their company and phone number to the cops. He hung up pretty dang quick.
No message, but since it didn't get a hit here I looked it up and it appears to be a valid business located somewhere in Texas. Returned the call and listened to a genuine "pick your department-by-number" request. I have two business registered to me so maybe that's why I got called?
Received a call, Asian "Indian" accent ,who sound rushed and unprepared calling from a busy sounding call center. Mentioned something regarding Windows, I cut him off and told him don't call again...I do not own a business. Name on called ID is Virtual Surveillance.
It took a few times of saying "Hello" and "I can hear somebody is there" before a South Asian guy answered and stated he was with "Windows Technical Support". Knowing this was a scam, I decided to have a little fun. "Boy I'm glad you called! Five minutes ago my computer short-circuited and caught on fire! I should have never installed Windows 10!" He then asked if the computer was on and I replied, "No, the computer caught fire! It doesn't work anymore!" He caught on to my game at this point (maybe) and hung up. I know I should've just hung up at the beginning, but I couldn't resist with this scammer. (BTW: the caller ID showed up as "Virtual Surveil")

Unfortunately, being old and stupid, I fell for a scam last month. Luckily my bank caught it and I lost no money. I had to change some things though. They also use other numbers and claim to be Microsoft. I got lucky and I hope all others do too.
