Left message on landline about being sued by IRS. Recorded message didn't state who they were calling for. *NOTE that the IRS would not leave a message that does not state who they are calling for. "The first IRS contact with taxpayers is usually through the mail. Taxpayers have rights, and this is not how we do business" Quote from IRS Commissioner John Koskinen taken from the IRS page about phone scams. http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/Phone-Scams-C ... 5-Filing-Season
Recorded message said "Please call our department immediately. I repeat, Please call our department immediately' (suspect bill collector trying to contact a relative)
Left message on landline that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against us and to call the number
#469-713-3535. This is a scam - plus , I'm certain that the IRS doesn't rely on voice mail ....
Got a voice mail. The first part was cut off. Started with "is filing a lawsuit against you..." told to return call immediately. Struck me as very odd. If a lawsuit is being filed against me, something would be sent in writing.
I received a message on my land line from an electronic voice telling me that the 'reason of this call' (less than proper grammar) is that the Internal Revenue Service is filing a lawsuit against me and to return their call immediately. I googled the number 469-713-3535 and it seems this is happening to others today
