I received a call from this number, which was on my caller ID. I just picked up the receiver and hung up. I get so many calls like this, I just hang up and never answer them. I do not know the name UNAS, does anyone?
The Area Code 469 is a Dallas, TX area code, so it must be somewhere in that neighborhood where they are located.
Depending upon the kind of call it is, you can collect $500 starting with the first one. Unfortunately, no matter how illegal a call is, under the TSR you can't collect a penny unless you can prove $50,000 in damages. Your state may have other laws which apply.
How to collect? SIMPLY FILE SUIT.
Some people send demand letters. Some even collect, based on those alone. I don't find much success with them. In one letter, I offered to settle for $1,000. After I sued, they offered to settle for $875. I collected $10,000. For one call.
For me, it's simpler to go straight to court. I've done it dozens of times, and you should do it, too.
Received another call from this number today and happened to be near the phone to answer on 2nd ring. I spoke with a nice woman who identified herself from the Breast Cancer Fund collecting for people who cannot afford mammograms.
I asked to be removed from her phone list. She said she would. Hopefully this will happen as they have called daily & hung up before I could answer.
