I received a phone call at 6:22 pm MST on April 22, 2010 from 469-737-9635, from an individual who identified himself (herself?) as Gina Davis. This person told me that their company, Southwest International, had joined Southwest Airlines and that they were giving away free tickets. I asked them to call back because it was an inconvenient time and I was having a hard time hearing them. I did a reverse look-up on the number and found that it was an unlisted landline in Dallas, Texas and the carrier was Ymax Communications Corporation. Then I did an internet search to see if there was a known scam like this or if there was a news release on the Southwest Airlines website about Southwest International, but I found neither.
I found the customer service number on the Southwest Airlines Website, called it, and left my number to be called back. I was called back by Reservations. The woman who answered did confirm that there had been no merger.
