They must be hiring local talent now. I got a call from an elderly sounding woman with a Texas accent. She mispronounced the owners name so I knew right away it was some shady operation.
I started getting calls after I registered for some vendor that promotes virtualization, I thought it was a serious company and provided my job information since then I keeo getting calls
I am also getting calls from this and other phone numbers, I started receiving calls after attending a webminar from Zerto. I registered for their online webminar and I provided my information and company contact phone, but instead of office number I provided my company cell number, they reached out to me several times to get to know more about my company and infrastructure, after letting them know that we don't have any plans in migrating or using their products I started to receive all this funny calls.
How sure I am that this is result of this vendors webminar?, because I am new in this company and the webminar was the only place where I entered the company cell number. And the caller knows the my name and company name.
My guess is that since this vendors have online seminars and they cost time and money for them, they have to recoup some of the cost by either selling you their product or perhaps selling your information to another companies. But this is just my opinion based on the fact that I didn't enter contact information anywhere else and I just started working for this company.
I have blocked all number that start with 469, 401 and 313, most of cell phones have this feature now a days. good luck.
Caller claimed to be from Web Marketing. The same foreign call center that claims to be from "the office of"....various companies like Marketing 123, Ziff Davis, Zilliant, SafeNet, LogiAnalytics, Microsoft, Citibank, FedEx and many others. They are phishing for information, most likely to sell to other scammers, so beware! They use at least 50 different numbers and claim to be a lot of different companies. Obviously dangerous scammers!
