Scam call with recorded robo- womans voice. First rule: don't answer a phone call from anybody you don't know. Secondly, anything official from the IRS is done through regular mail. Any official phone call from the U.S. government will identify itself as such on your caller ID (i.e. "Social Security", not "Wireless Caller"). The IRS doesn't sue; they fine you and/ or add interest penalties ( usually after they've notified you BY MAIL that you're being audited.) If you DO owe Uncle Sam anything, the IRS will usually be willing to work out a payment plan with you. During tax season, many communities offer tax filing help for different population groups, such as seniors or people under a certain income. If you do your taxes, you'll probably find out that Uncle Sam owes YOU.
Received this call on 4/14 at 11:38 am. Caller ID just said "Texas" so I did not answer it. In fact I went ahead and put a call block on it. As others stated above, the message left said that IRS was filing suit against me for taxes owed. I tried to call back to tell them personally or leave a message stating that I was reporting them to the FBI. However, when I called back this number I got a recording that said it was not a working number. Evidently they went to Staples and bought another Go Phone to try to scam someone else. Scam run by total scum bags. I had a scam call once and when I called back I told them I could not talk to them at home, so please call me on my work phone in 30 minutes. I then gave them the number for the closest FBI field office.
