Called at 8:40 in the evening.....better be an emergency notification if you call here after 6pm!!! Someone posted they are the United Cerebral Palsy and others that post have said AMVETS....I am a vet and told AMVETS not to call again since they are shady. I will give to the VietNam Wall, American Legion and Vets of Foreign Wars but do NOT need solicitation calls to prompt me!
I've donated clothing to AMVETS for years. They leave a tax deduction receipt for your tax return when they pick up your donation boxes. They are simply calling to let you know when they can pick up.
I did some checking on AMVET, and they seem to be good to themselves, and not so good about getting funds to Vets. In the "Guide to the best and worst military charities" they rate an "F".
I am also troubled by the fact that your post is an almost word for word copy from a thread about another suspect charity for Vets; "The Military Order of the Purple Heart". That post was active about 2-3 weeks ago as I recall. The person making the post was also very impressed with the pickup service, and did not seem to care about what was actually reaching Vets.
Not sure I believe in coincidences, and like I say, "Troubled". If you are shilling, and I have a feeling that you are, Shame on YOU.
