They called my cell phone today and then left a message saying there was a investigation of fraud to call back knew it had to be a scam glad I looked that number up from Ohio their from Georgia those scammer s need stopped
This company calls using different numbers every few weeks. They claim to be investigating a fraud claim. They act like cops and if you ask them will sometimes even claim to be cops. The phone number obviously does not match any law enforcement. Do not give these people any information. Do not waste time reporting it to law enforcement. Just post your complaints on 800 notes so people are aware of who is calling. There have been many reports online about companies like this. They are not licensed nor do they have a right to collect on any debts. In many cases the "Company" they are investigating for will even tell you not to pay these people. Education will cause these types of crimes to fade out. The tactic these people use is to not call the actual "debtor". They instead call family, friends and employers. This act is illegal.
MY mother received a phone call from this number. When I asked the name of the company, the woman put me on hold and said she would let me speak with her supervisor. I was on hold for 10 minutes and no one came to the phone. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE BACK OR ANSWER PHONE CALLS FROM THEM. THEY ARE FISHING FOR INFORMATION.
I just got a call from this number for the fraud claim. They had all this information about a place I used 8 years ago...even the 4 digits of my phone number! They said I had to pay using money gram. They sounded ligit! I of course didn't send them anything due to them saying that I can't use my debit card because it can be traced.
I got this call from this number from a payday loan. From july 2006. Threat me that they are gonna press charges. I ask for a letter in the mail. Refuse to send it. I gave them my email they never sent it stating if I didn't pay money today they would go to the DA. TOld me to do moneygram. Gave me the code. Company is KWA wouldn't give me the name just abbreviation. To top it they called my brother in another State. Know they have my number. They gave me one number to call and she call me back on a different stating I can call her cell. The other number does not pop up. They answer Investigators. The other number is 4702997367.
