Message on my answering macihne this morning informing me that I was being sued by the IRS same as what others are reporting. Didn't believe this for a second.
Left something along these lines in their message, 'Hello, this is your final notice from the IRS, the Internal Revenue Service. Thiis is your final notice that the IRS is suing you. Call our office phone immediately at 470-312-1079. I repeat 901-489-5684.'
Lordy, lordy, lordy. These scammers think they need to 'explain' who the IRS is to folks in the U.S.? And they don't see the incongruity of saying, 'I repeat' and then give a totally DIFFERENT number? The IRS handles its business by mail, not by idiotic phone calls like this. Oh well, at least I can act prospectively and block not only THIS number but also the alternative one they left (and which doesn't have any reports against it -- yet).
OMG...got the same phone call today and almost believed it. Till they mentioned, the IRS have a warrant for your arrest...then i thought, please you have got to be joking and Hong up on them! Thank you for posting this!
Just got a call 15 minutes ago from they said the IRS and they were suing me and to call 470-312-1079 repeat 901-489-5684. For kicks I tried to call both numbers from a masked phone # and neither number answered. Idiots
