I received a text from this number 478-216-3759  on July 26, 2013.   It read as follows: Hi I'm Julie Do u av Stall/Pasture opens to board my horse kindly email ut stable info boarding price per month email [email protected]

I responded by text with my boarding information, and received another text worded as follows:  sounds good i have 1 TB Gelding horse for board kindly email me to send details of my horse and all I need for him.  email [email protected]  This was on July 27, 2013.

I received an email from this person and is pasted below:

smart and a very fast learner. He is not a spooky horse but very inquisitive. He is a smaller type and well balanced. He loads and hauls great, doesn't become stressed. He also is easy to have shod. He loves
people. I don't have much time as am busy preparing for Doctor appointment but will have him haul down to your stable...Concerning the payment i can only send you check i would need the following details for the check to get you soon.

So in view of the above, here are some of  the details I will need for final issuance of the check or money order to you.The boarding start immediately you have the payment with you and it will include the hauler's fee to be deducted and send via western union for delivery of Derby at your barn...if you have a contract agreement you can send via email,I will print out,fill and sign contract agreement for boarding as soon as you send agree with me as i am at the hospital at moment and will undergo a surgery soon that is why i want you to get this done for me and i will appreciate that a lot... so i can have a sound surgical done.And also i will be visiting the Barn before the end of Derby's board to ride and exercises him at your stable after i have a good and sound health. Once you get back to me with all the above,I will proceed the check will be issued out immediately and it will be sent to you with further instruction for haulage delivery of Derby at your stable.I'll be glad to hear from you soon.

I responded that I WOULD NOT be paying a transporter for hauling the horse.  Also that if the horse was to be sent to me in a day or within the week, I would need payment by pay pal or Walmart Money Gram.

That was the end of our communications.   Obviously was a scam.  
This person claims to be a hard of hearing person, awaiting surgery.   Was in the hospital awaiting surgery, and could only send a check.   Later in the email this person states that they would issue a CHECK OR MONEY Order.  Then further into the email they sent, was told she was hurrying for a Dr. appointment.
This person used the name, Julie Willis.

Big Scam attempt.

I received 2 text messages from this number and later 2 emails from [email protected]  Obviously this was a scam.  Wanted me to take a check for boarding a horse and then Western Union money from the check for a transporter to haul the horse from New Jersey to W. PA where I live.   The following is our correspondence:

The obvious part of the scam is the use of "Western Union". Otherwise known as cash. Untraceable cash. How I would love for all the Craigslist & Kijiji people to start texting the scammers & tell them the method of payment THEY will accept is "Western Union". You know what they say about payback.

I received a text about boarding a horse for a woman relocating to my area.  It was exactly like the one mentioned by another person who reported it.  When I saw Western Union I knew it was a scam! I hope that no one else falls prey to this.

Wow!! This woman is something else. Glad I just saw this! I received the same text and e-mails in the last week also.  I live in Georgia!  But she is re-locating where?  She is very pushy and will NOT provide any proof she owns the horse she speaks of.  I verified her address, and she really does own a condo in East Orange, NJ.  So, I don't know what she is trying to prove, but it is absolutely a scam for some reason, don't fall for it!

How are you doing today sorry i took so long to reply you,i just want to let you know i have issued and mail out board payment via USPS postal mail and would be deliver hopefully 3-4working days soon, do not hesitate to email me as soon as you get it deliver,as i was down with a diagnosis of cancer of the lungs, as such i had to spend some time in the intensive care,please bear with me and continue with the transaction immediately you get it received,you should notify me as soon as you get the payment delivered for further instructions from my hauler on how to complete the transaction and delivery of the horse at your barn.All papers and agreement will come with Derby upon delivery. Get a stall ready for Derby.

I am so sorry about your diagnosis.  I really hope the doctors are working to help you get better and kick that.  Cancer is nothing to sneeze at and that is very scarey for you I'm sure.  The check needs to be a cashier's check in my name and address, I hope that is what you sent to me.  As I said before, you would be responsible for handling the payment directly to the hauler, not going through me.  I understand you are going through a lot, but I need verification of who you are before accepting a horse I don't know.  As I have asked for before, please send a copy of your driver's license through e-mail or phone as well as a copy of Derby's papers.  You can take a picture of it with your phone and send it through a text if you like.  I will not take a horse in that I have no idea if it's stolen or not. Your quick response to this is required due to the arrival date of your horse.
