Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.
Google "call blocker" for more information, or visit Amazon or similar sales site.
If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers! All that does is verify your phone number! And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.

* If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar). Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.
* Another option, for both smart and "dumb" cell phones: Assign a "silent ringtone" as DEFAULT. Then, assign your favorite ringtones to all known friends / family / business numbers. That way, you will hear rings ONLY from those you wish to contact! You will not hear scammers' rings, even if they change their number!
If you want to report potential fraudulent or scam calls, here are two pages of links to (mostly government) sites in Canada and the USA were you can report those scams, or learn more about them.

If the reporting site you wanted is not in the above list, try this one:

This is an Arizona number that refuses to listen to take me off the list and has called me over a dozen times in three months. They are doing some BS energy conservation home owners crap in AZ and Im not in Arizona. I've tried to be nice but all I ever get is hung up on. I have no less than four times asked to be removed, I know it won't happen but, I tried. l have had to add call block and now they are calling from a second number!
They refuse to listen to me to take me off their list. They have called repeatedly over the last 6 months and now they talk right over me or hang up on me when I say, "I'm not interested, please take me off your list." They call from different numbers each time, always from the 480 exchange.
I've tried to be nice, I've gotten frustrated with them, and now I just hang up. My heart goes out to the folks that do this thankless job and I'm sick of these calls, the time it takes and the frustration and stress they cause me. No matter what I say, they talk over me and won't take no for answer. Do they really get business from this?
I was creating complaints on DoNotCall.com, but don't have time any more to do this and I'm certain the complaints go no where anyway.
