Except for the fact I just checked the company registration for AZ and MO and the disclosure states that only 40% of donations actually go to the charity. Now that's just disgusting!
got a call from them around 8:30-have a young son who is asleep at that time so I picked up the phone and hung up on them. I am also on the no call list but continue to get calls from telemarketers such as this.....
Have received calls from Medallion over the past two or three weeks at all hours of the day, as late as 8:59pm. I find it extremely rude, especially as they leave no message.
Fund Raiser for special olympics:
1 call on 5/29/2008 but did not pick up the phone. No meesages on my answering machine. My number is listed in the no call list.
Josh Tutt called asked for employer. Medalion Productions is a Telemarketing firm that raised $349,031 from its annual telemarketing campaign in 2002, the Olympics got $132,632 and the Arkansas-based telemarketer pocketed $216,399.
The fact that the Special Olympics got 38 percent of what was raised is not a shock. In the competitive world of charity fund raising by phone, it's the norm.
We are listed on a National and State do not call list and regular report violations to the Public Utility Commision. At $1000.00 a violation it may be worth the risk. This Telemarketer is working under the guise of a charity so there lies the loop hole.
