Caller left a VM claiming to be from Wells Fargo. I have a loan out through them and they've solicited me by phone for refinancing offers and additional products a couple times over the past 3 years. Usually they call from a Minnesota #, though, not an Arizona #.
Some people on other sites are calling this a scam, although I think people throw that assumption around a little too much when they just don't know the reason behind the call (one person incorrectly calls it a scam, everyone else sees their post, and re-posts that they've heard this is a scam). I don't know if that's true, the voicemail was polite and, again, I am a Wells Fargo customer.
I received a call from 480-375-9021 and got a message from a gentleman named John Davy. I called the Wells Fargo 800# from the Wells Fargo website and the rep at that number verified that Mr. Davy is a Wells Fargo employee. I was even connected to Mr. Davy through the 800# rep. The call was a sales call trying to solicit additional business from me with Wells Fargo, but it was not a scam.
Some one named Alex called stating that he is from Wells Fargo
He was stating that i have a car loan and he can get a better deal than that.
When i asked him what car i have, he started mumbling and stated "you must possibly be having a loan"
just be aware of such prank calls and never reveal any personal information no matter how nice they speak
