After I changed my number after 28 yrs, my phone scammer calls were gone for over half a year! silence!! No more blocking 10 a week! Now I am blocking more again. They caught up with snooping.
Sure, robocalls are used too but why the sudden silence for a long time? Anyone and the scammers can google your info and get into government records at court house to see everything you have. When your number is published in phone directories, you are vulnerable for it all. We all need unpublished numbers without having to pay for it. Nothing will change unless we complain to the phone companies. Also, solicitors use your driver license numbers from government records to mail solicitations to your home. Auto insurance companies are notorious for this. I know it's true, I checked it out.
A non-profit organization offered information on Consumer Credit Counseling programs. Looked company up on BBB they have no complaints and are sending info, no charge!
Harassing calls over and over again trying to sell extended car warranties. Became very rude when I explained I don't own a car. Please stop calling and get a life !
Brief survey from a non-profit organization, very nice person and no mention of cars or car warranties, they are a credit counseling service? I think Bob's confused...
They called but I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message... certainly smacks of shady telemarketing tactics!!
I tend to believe Bob over the two suspicious contributors who want us to believe this is a reputable non-profit organization.... Alex supposedly checked them out with the BBB but didn't offer the name of the organization or person he spoke with... just a vague vote of confidence. Then Anonymous followed to contradict Bob's post by saying it was a "very nice person" conducting a brief survey on behalf of a non-profit organization (again that phrase non-profit organization); but like Alex, Anonymouse coincidentally failed to provide the name of the organization and/or any description as to what the survey was about... ha!
My vote is for new laws that would REQUIRE telemarketers to leave full voice mail messages each and every time they call a person; and, message or no message, making it illegal for ANYONE to call the same number more than three times without proof that their call was returned and/or a relationship established at the customer's request.
