To all you Québec-ers who are being harassed by collection companies, like ARO, for example, all you have to do is send them a registered letter stating clearly that you wish to be contacted only by mail, this request is valid for 3 months following date of reception of said letter, and you may renew your request after 3 months. Should they all you during this time, it becomes illegal harassment. If you ask them if you can do this, they will probably tell you that such an arrangement is not possible. Don't believe it. It is the law. I can't say if this works in other provinces, or the USA, but it's worth finding out.
