They hung up right as I answered. Called back and was asked (recording) to hold for the next available customer service rep....then a moment later was asked to leave my phone number so I can be placed on the "Do Not Call List".
I just received a call from 480 543 1318. It showed on our caller ID as SLG SALES. But the India sounding male IDed himself as "Waylon Stephenson" with the Privacy Matters company. He said it was not a sales call but instead we had won a $25.00 gift card to Wal-Mart. When I asked how we were entered he said it was through the Wal-Mart VISA promotion. I made it clear to him to not call back. He also refused to let me speak to his supervisor, he was the supervisor in charge.
Got one from same #, but last four of 1316. It's the exact same story about a $25 Wal-mart card and $25 gas card...Privacy Matters...SLG Sales, etc. Called back 3 times after I hung up on him. Actually, sounded like a woman, but could've been male, given the voices of some of those folks.
Received phone call from 480-543-1318. Indian fella said his name was Rick Fernandez. Said he was with Privacy Matters - 24 Protect Plus. Said I won a pair of $25 Gift cards from Wallmart and Chevron. Very confusing and fast speaker. Finally got to details of the cards and he pressed for credit info to pay for shipping charges. Told him to never call again - that my number is supposed to be blocked. Called my LifeLock protection to check and make sure this guy is not doing anything funny. On return call same voice - but he said he was with TMobile Technical Support. This guy is fishy and needs to be stopped. Any recommendations on who to call and report this to??
Glad I found this site. Although I have not been getting calls from (480) 543-xxxx, I have been getting phone calls from (623) 238-6260, and it shows up on the ID as SLG SALES. Both area codes (480 and 623) are from Phoenix, AZ. The 480 is caller company Qwest and the 623 is caller company Verizon. (according to whitepages.com) They keep hanging up on me too. This time I quickly answered the phone and quickly said hello. He then quickly hung up again.
