Intercepted a call from these people at my elderly mom's home yesterday. They said we had requested information, too. I was polite and listened to their entire pitch because Mom has been getting lots of scammer calls lately. I am certain this was just another call aimed at taking advantage of our most vulnerable adults. They became very rude when their stock answers couldn't answer my questions, and eventually they hung up on me, but not before giving me their contact info. I called back and told them not to EVER use her phone number again! The moral to this sad story that is getting more and more common: Folks, if it seems too good to be true, it is! There's no easy way out of financial problems, and there's certainly no free paychecks. I do understand how easy it would be to get scammed by these guys. They sound so professional as long as you don't ask too many questions they can't answer. They apparently have at least 3 or 4 men in their office and a professionally produced recording and sample website. It's sad they don't use their talent and training for something worthwhile instead of stealing people's money. Unfortunately, if you are reading this, you've likely already had experience with them. Do whatever you can to minimize the damage. My thoughts are with you. Please don't let them take any more of your money. Like you, I wish we could stop people like this, but there's always going to be someone out there trying to take advantage of our seniors and anyone else they can scam. Guard your hard-earned money!
They also gave me the following contact info, just in case it might be helpful to anyone reading this post:
800-781-3445 (I was given a couple of names, but unfortunately I'm not sure about the laws concerning a post of that sort.) I suppose it would be safe to give first names, though. There were 2 men with the first name Jimmy, and 1 man with the first name Shaun (spelling may be incorrect).
The number on the caller I.d. box was 480-966-1385.
I have also been informed that other is a legitimate business by this name, but they DO NOT make calls of this type. I hope their reputation is not damaged by the actions of this so-called "company." If I should find any information not already posted by me or the authors above I will post it as a response to my original post, just like this one.
I am so sorry, but when it posted, there was an error in that last response. It should have read something like this:
I have been informed that there is a legitimate business with the same name, but they DO NOT
Make solicitation calls of this sort. Sorry for any confusion.
I received a call from WEBSITE INNOVATIONS LLC, phone numbers 1-800-781-3445 &1-800-781-4840. The pitch is that I could purchase a web-mall with 263 stores for $150 & $15 shipping & handling. I then asked about a different DOMAIN name than the one offered, and I could purchase that for an additional $20. With 263 stores I could only display 9 at any given time, Regardless of how many times I have tried to change the stores thru the BACK OFFICE they are always the same on the store front site! I have invested $185 into this website program, and I have had 130 visitors to the site, WITH NO SALES! The only charges that have appeared on my account are the charges for the DOMAIN NAME! I guess that I am the LUCK ONE! I have requested a FULL REFUND of all MONEY CHARGED to my account!
I did that with my bank. After the 30 day deadline they put the money back in my account. Two days later after it was closed, they received the response from Website Innovations. Then they took it back from my account and gave it back to Website Innovations. I was madder than Ole Hell. The Bank that did this is Discover. I will close my account with them after I pay what I owe them.
