TOTAL SCAM.  Don't trust these people.  Have you guys read these notes!?  Every time they call they say something different.  They are just trying to get a credit card number I think.

I had a message saying they were calling about a vehicle warranty.  I have only had my -new- number for a week so it wasn't for me...I had also been getting a lot of calls for the previous owner of the phone number...

Anyhow, I answered the call, stayed on the line and as soon as I started to explain that this new number the guy who answered the phone hung up on me mid-sentance!  I got pissed and tryed calling the number that came up on my caller Id: 1-480-586-4466 and I got a recorded message from Verizon saying this:

"Welcome to Verizon Wireless.  The number you have dialed has been changed, disconnected or is no longer in service.  If you feel that you have reached this recording in error please check the number and try your call again.  Announcement 2 switch 48-1"

WTF!

Hey, when these folks call you back (and trust me, they will!), this time have a little fun at their expense. Let them get through their sales pitch. Ask a couple of softball questions, engage them in coversation. In other words, take up their time. Express interest in purchasing their warranty and get them all excited. In fact, tell them you want to purchase the whole thing up front and you DON'T want to make payments. Tell them you want to put the whole thing on a credit card TODAY because you "get airline miles"... you'll get them REALLY excited! When they ask for a credit card number, tell the scammer you want to put the sale on one of THEIR credit cards because you'd rather THEY get scammed instead of YOU... and listen to them stutter and stammer, thank them for letting you waste THEIR time and promptly hang up on them. I just did it and the idiot actually called back to harrass me twice because I baited her and she took the bait. Enjoyed the hell out of it!! You should, too!

I actually got a "live" person this time...NO recording! Since I have my own vehicle warranties and I KNOW what status they are in... I asked to be taken off the list... I aM also registered on donotcall.gov AND my number is unlisted...well anyways the witch hung up on me! Surprise, surprise!  You KNOW this is a scam...  HOW do I (we)get them to stop?
