I pressed one this time. I spoke with someone who identified himself as 'Timothy'. (Which is the name, actually, of the person who pays for my phone service- something I find suspect.)
He asked for the make and model of my car. I asked him "You have the warranty on it, that's what this call is about, yes? So you should have that information, and I would like to verify it by having YOU tell ME what information you have, and I'll verify it by telling you if what you have is correct."
He hung up after I requested the information twice or three times.

Tracing it back via the White Pages and Google, I got this information:

I forgot to mention that this was the "Your vehicle warranty is about to expire" call, which starts with a recorded message and asks you to press 1 to speak with a representative, or 2 to have your name taken off the list.
