This number called the office this morning. It was a recorded message that claimed that our Google Plus profile was only half-complete. I'm pretty sure this is yet another number for the potential Google scammers. The caller ID read, "LOCAL MKTG" which i think is another telltale sign.
I have online shops & have been harassed by these idiots constantly calling. Usually it is a recording telling me my google + or ad words are not set up tho their potential. I am on the DNC list, this is the ONLY company that does not have reason to call me that calls and they call constantly. Annoying indeed!
These people do not work for Google, and they legally "spoof" phone numbers that don't exist.
If you answer the phone, they will call you back indefinitely - and by pressing any number or asking to be removed from their list only lets them know that the number they called is a good number, and they will keep calling - if not by the same number, a different one...and they will also sell your number to other scam artists.
Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it - and they know it. The "do not call list" does not apply to businesses. Your best bet is to simply NOT answer the phone at all unless you know who it is. If a stranger calls you and it's important, they will leave a message.
...oh, and don't be fooled by a phone call coming in that has your same area code. These scam artists figured out that most people won't answer the phone unless the area code is their own.
Called and pretended to be working on Google business listings from the company called "MS Marketing" located in southern California. I asked about a Pennsylvania area code, he said they're using satellite phones to save on long distance charges. I asked if their company is registered to do business in California and he said yes and that I can feel free to look it up. When I asked if it's MS Marketing LLC or MS Marketing Inc the guy hung up
