We used to make donations to the PA Police Chiefs Association. This year our budget is stretched, so we decided not to do it, but they won't take NO for an answer! The worst thing is that they call in the middle of the day and ask for my husband, who is usually at work at that time. When I tell him I can take a message or if I ask them to stop, they just hang up in the middle of my sentence, then call again the next day! Extremely annoying! I called their Harrisburg office at 717-236-1059, there is a Sheryl there who can help stop it.
GOT A CALL FROM 484-220-0506. ANSWERED. SAID HELLO 6 TIMES WITH NO RESPONSE! FRUSTRATED! MY # IS ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST AND I KEEP GETTING THESE CALLS!
If I understand the process correctly, the robo callers report when a telephone is answered by a person (rather than by a machine or not answered at all) to the company that really wants to contact you so a real person can call again around that time with the reasonable expectation of a person answering the phone again.
I screen all my calls now. If the caller ID comes up "Out of Area" or "Caller Unknown" I don't answer the phone. If it's someone I really need to talk with, s/he will leave a message. Hope this helps.
