There are over a dozen numbers related to this Voip Street Inc spam prank -
While the majority listed are for a charity there was one for a collection agency and another selling some kind of store credit card.
Another site warns it could also be an IRS phishing scam. I just saw a news clip about a cop that called back one of those IRS twits at the police station. They wanted to send an arrest warrant. So he asked them why he needed to give them his address if they already had it. He also asked for the guys name and badge number the guy gave two different names and a badge number that was over a dozen numbers and letters long. So you know that was bogus. Don't answer numbers you don't know!
Any number that can't give a clearer ID and not then doesn't leave a message is phishing and therefore a prank.
These twits called on a Friday evening around 6:30 pm.
SCAM!!!! 484-223-1929, CID - VOIP Street Inc., called my landline today @3:46pm. I don't answer calls from unknown numbers and they left NO message (imagine that). If this were legitimate business an actual PERSON would be on the other end and leave a message. Also calls from 484-223-1922.
Per White Pages: "(484) 223-1929 Flagged as Suspected Spam, serviced by Choice One Communications VoIP in Allentown, PA with a 'MEDIUM' Spam Activity Level".
