Got a call from this number saying my flue pipe was due for cleaning. I told him I work in a maintenance company that does that and I've already done that. He said "oh [***]" and quickly hung up
4842380820 was a live pitch man said he was Ron Johnson. Said I needed to schedule to have my flues cleaned because it was a Federal Regulation that it must be done every two years. I dropped him a couple F-bombs and told him I was going to report his number and I hung up amid his protests.
I clean my wood stove flue every 6 months or after a heating season and before the next. I didn't tell him that but his misrepresenting federal law is larcenous.
Got exactly the same call as Al. Said his name was Ron and that their records indicated my flue was due for a cleaning. I have never dealt with ME Maintenance which he identified as his company so they can't have any records. I found at least a dozen other reports of calls by someone identifying himself as "Ron", same script only far more rude. Scam. Reported to DNC.
Got the same call today but this guy told me he was named Tim and he was from EME Maintenance. I knew I had never done business with them before. He told me my vents needed to be cleaned between my heater and chimney because it had been over 2 years. He did his research though because he knew my husband's name and asked for him first. I told him he wasn't home and then he called me Mrs. XXX by name so he must be working off some info list. I told him I knew he was operating a scam and never to call back and bother me again and he hung up on me.
