Seeing from the other posts, this is a "new" pain in the neck call. Called from Paoli, PA. Rang once. Hung up. Out of state calls are easy to not answer, but close-by or in your vicinity are harder to ignore. Could be someone you know or a doctor's office. Unfortunately, because of a family member's health, I get calls with the number but no name or "unknown" or even 800 numbers from doctor's offices. I have asked why and the women on the other end say they don't know why a doctor's office name won't be listed. AND I have found many of these offices now fall under the umbrella of a particular hospital so even harder to discern. Very complicated but making it difficult to NOT answer. These spam callers or robo calls have a broader annoyance than just the call itself.
Scammer - tried to get me to agree that they were my electric supplier (and not the supplier that has been providing my electricity since I've lived in the state). Wouldn't fall for the trap, caller became very argumentative.
When I asked for the company name that they represent, the caller hung up.
Dialed back and pressed 1 to speak with customer service - goes straight to an answering message.
Received a call from this number @ 11:22 AM on June 11, 2015. The caller identified himself as "Adam", and said he was calling to see if we received the discount we were supposed to receive. I asked "What discount?" and he replied, "From Met-Ed." I could hear a great deal of talking in the background that sounded like a call center. I said I did not know because my husband handles this sort of stuff, and he was not available. He asked me to go get one of my Met-Ed bills to look at and I told him I didn't have one handy, so he thanked me and said good-by. Sounds like a scam.
