I answered this call and there was a recording. It was a voice, but I picked up at the very end of a sentence so I'm not sure what was being said. Then there was some kind of hold music so I hung up. I tried calling the number back twice but the call wouldn't go through, I got a strange series of beeps and then my phone wasn't dialing the number anymore. I couldn't locate any info online about the company that was calling, but 484 is a PA area code, and the 398 prefix is a CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier). According to thedirectory.org, "CLEC prefixes are used by businesses or Internet providers who do not wish to use regular telephone companies (Verizon, Qwest, AT&T, etc). There may or may not be additional charges when dialing these prefixes. "
DON'T BE TEMPTED BY CURIOSITY... IT COULD BE A PERFECT TRAP JUST TO GET YOU TO USE YOUR PHONE TO EARN THEM MONEY.
"Just because the telephone rings does not mean that you should be obligated to answer it and further convey to the caller that you are even home. Just because there is a mystery on who it might be calling, does not justify a blind "hello". Shield Yourself from scum, guard yourself from badgers, and cast not your pearls before the wiggly-piggly-wigglies."
