Left an automated message about lowering the interest rate on my credit card. Claimed to be my credit card company, yet my bank had no knowledge of this call or phone number. Apparent scam.
I got a call from this number and pushed the #1 as it asked. Operator just answered and hungup. I only use my home phone number for my credit cards and these people called my cell. My credit cards do not have my cell phone number so this number has to be a phishing scam.
Just receive a call about lowering my interest rates on credit cards. I do not even own a credit card any more. I have a visa card through my bank and they told me this is a scam.
Called cellular phone at 1605 Tuesday 01 May 2012.
Apparently an automated caller, as the female voice started the message before the voicemail picked up.
For our telephone numbers, whether home or cell phones, SOMEONE is selling a list of these numbers. I just received a call on my cell phone which is a BUSINESS PHONE. No one has this cell phone number other than those businesses that I have a business relationship. Is the telephone companies selling our information, or insurance companies, or professional relationships - just who is doing this? I asked my telephone carrier (they were hesitant and then answered NO). Now, I do not believe them because of the hesitation.
