501-492-5258. called My business line several times this morning. When I returned the called a guy named Chris answered and immediately placed me on hold after he asked the name of my business. I was then transferred to a number where Bill Wheeler answered. I asked him businesses name and he stated he is acting on behalf of the Arkansas Fraternal order of police. Stated there was obviously nothing wrong and this was not a legal matter. They are soliciting donations for ads in their newsletter for their officers memorial fund per Mr. Wheeler. Seem to be calling all businesses listed in the state.
State police wanting a donation. Made the mistake of giving one a couple years ago and they call almost weekly, sometimes multiple times in one day. Don't make the mistake of thinking you can be generous with them because they will make you regret it forever.
It's a telemarketing company operating on behalf of the AR FOP. Very common to receive these calls as a business owner or if your name is associated with your business listing. They're typically respectful and use the same names to "warm up their calls." I've donated every year and hear from them frequently. Always nice and respectful and representing a cause worth your time.
Caller asking for someone else, though I've had the same # for about 18 years. After Googling the number I was able to surmise it was a solicitation for donations to support the AR State Police, which I have donated to before. Guessing someone keying previous year's donation list keyed a name & then accidentally keyed the next number on the list; sort of a mis-match. If they call ME again, I'll likely donate because I do think it's a valid and good cause.
