I get calls several times a week from this number, saying they're calling about my credit card account. When I press 1 to talk to a real person, I say "It's illegal to call my cell..." and before I get one word out, they hang up.
Just got a second call from this number (I reported it to the Do Not Call list last week). Live call, "John" from Emergency Medical Services, or some such, with a "Life Alert System" that someone else supposedly has purchased for me.
Same guy - on the first call, he was rude and annoying. This time I just yelled "NOT INTERESTED. DO NOT CALL AGAIN, and hung up.
Unfortunately, "John" didn't hear you. This is a fairly clever recording done so sound like a live person but you don't actually get to speak to anyone unless you press "1" to "confirm" your "free" system. They almost immediately want your credit card or debit card info and have no clue as to who "paid" for the system for you. In reality, this scamming company "paid" for it. The sole purpose of the call is to get you to agree to the monthly monitoring fees and installation costs. If you want to waste their time which seems to be the only way to get them to stop calling, keep pressuring them for info on who paid for the order, why they would accept an order without contact information about the sender. Tell them to send you the item but you do not need installation or monitoring. If they ask to verify your address, ask them what they have. If it is yours say something like, oh that was last month now I am at (look up the address of an RV park several states away) but next month it will be (give another RV park address). Pretend you are hard of hearing and purposefully misunderstand what they are saying. Anything you can do to waste as much time as possible but never give any credit card or other payment information.
I, too, have received many calls from this number. I inadvertently answered it one day, and this idiot kept going on with his little talk (could hear him shuffling his papers) even after telling him he had a wrong number. We should all do what I did to one of those annoying "cardholder services" people. I took a deep breath and screamed bloody murder. I didn't another call for several weeks. Lol
My husband received several calls from this number and has asked that they please not call anymore but it hasn't stopped. The last call was on June 7, 2013 at 5:12pm and the person on the line mentioned something about Medical Alert. I said we weren't interested and hung up. I wish I had gotten more information but they will probably call back.
