Watch Out For Scammers Pretending To Be Your Credit Card Company's Fraud Department
When a strange person calls you on the telephone claiming to represent a company you do business with and asks you to give them sensitive personal information, tell them that you'll call them back on the regular customer service number that you usually use to contact them.
I got an unidentified text message saying "Commonwealth Credit Union Alert: Your CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please contact us at 502-442-7979 to REACTIVATE your CARD." It is a scam. I traced the number through yellowbook.com to a landline in Lousiville, but the same search through google sent me to a fitness store in Paducah. There are alerts for the same message with a different callback number. The one the site directed me to was was (800) 746-3008. I have not called the number nor do I intend to.
