This number has been calling me daily for a week. When I call back it says can't be completed as dialed. What is funny is that I have called the Hotel chain that it is from?
Call from 502-555-0136. Automated voice says my account has been locked, to unlock it enter 16 digit card number!
Gee, that isn't shaddy at all. I tried to hit 0 a bunch of times to see if it would bring me to an actual person, but it just kept asking for my card number.
Indian accent w/call center noises in background. Said he was calling on behalf of Windows. That there was a Windows error. That they could see my machine was generating errors on their server & this was a courtesy call to help fix it. I informed him we're an all-Mac household & hung up. Scam scam scam. I suspect ID thefts in the near future from their efforts :-( --and if you don't already know this, Windows is not a company. It is a Microsoft product. Microsoft would never call you out of the blue to collect sensitive info like this, much less confuse company/product.
