Caller ID said 866-904-8350, but said they were from Active Credit Services out of Portland. They referenced the wrong person and had a call back reference number. Did research found 503-292-2077 number and was able to press ZERO and tell RAND to remove my number.
05-17-2009 @ 9:15pm..... Just got a call from this number and a guy named RAND left a message and told us to call back asap. We called back not knowing who this guy back and got an answering machine saying the office was closed and to call back during business hours. WEIRD!! Will try and call back tomorrow to get our name of their calling list.
unfortunately they can't care. Your current situation is not their concern.
But they cannot harrass you for payment either. If you cannot pay because you were laid off because the financial institutions destroyed our economy. Probably the same financial institutions that sent it to collections.

Keeping logs of calls and who called. Recording calls is legal in every state, it just depends on your state laws whether you have to disclose that your are recording or not..
Also contact your Senators and Congresspeople - They can help make the changes that need to be made in this wrecked economy.
