It's a background checking company. Someone probably put you down as a reference.

Called claiming to be conducting a background check, but they didn't want to know anything about the person other than his location - phone number,  Appears to be a collection agency or someone retained by a collection agency

caller said Carla Hooper but wouldn't id where calling from so I hung up also.  2nd call.  she tries to sound like she is a friend of yours!  Will tell her no more calls only write if wants to contact me.

Background check company asking me about a previous tenant.

Got similar just a little bit ago.  ID as Karla Hooper.  Seems to have been doing a background check of some sort, but utilizing totaly incorrect information.
