Wow, I'm glad I investigated this. I got a call from this number Thursday, saying she was from the Oregonian telling me the same as everyone else. Fortunately I was driving so I told her to call back and leave a message, which she did not. Then I got a recorded call today (Sunday), asking about my "delivery". No information on who was calling or what was being delivered.
Has anyone called the Oregoinan (which I will do tomorrow) or wonder how they knew how I am a subscriber?
After numerous calls with "dead air", I got a person. They told me I was past due on my Oregonian bill. Said I owed $8.32 and said if I paid it by credit card over the phone, he would send me a $25.00 gift card to restaurant.com. I do not have a past due bill with the Oregonian and my bill is normally $32.00. This is a scam to get your credit card information! Do not fall for it!!
Just got a call from someone that says they were from the Oregonian and said that I owed money.
and that I could pay it over the phone. he wanted credit card info and I told him that he was a crook.
