I recieved a call from this number 504-208-2896 on Friday, August 14 at 11:04am. Stated they were with Discover and that I would be getting a $500 "gas" card if I signed up for the service and that I was now a premium member. If it sounds too good, it usually is, so I asked them to send me an info packet explaining the program.
Received 2 calls from this company and they won't say what they want. First time it was to offer me a $500 gas card and second time to thank me for keeping up on my card, when I ask what card they just laugh. I ask what is the purpose of the call they say to thank me for keeping up on my credit card. I told them thanks and hung up. This is bogus.
I just received a call from this same number. They claimed to be with "Mastercard/Visa". They stated that they wanted to "thank me" for keeping up my card payments and that I would be sent a $500 gas card as a reward. They also stated that they wanted to charge me a $6.95 one time fee to get $25,000 worth of protection for identity theft protection. They gave me the last four digits of my credit card, but the funny thing is, is that credit card isn't with Mastercard or Visa. They began to get really pushy when I initially declined the protection and kept reiterating that it would only be one time charge, however, I told them that I already had that protection (as most do through Visa/Mastercard/Any other credit card).
This one had scam written all over it, I just wish that I would have had more fun with her before she hung up.
I get missed calls on my cell from this number 2-3 times a day, at least 3 times a week for the last month. I never answer.....they never leave a message. I don't plan to answer either. ;->
