Automated voice came on the line informing me that the IRS is in the process of filing a law suit against me, issuing a warrant for my arrest and will be terminating my drivers license. Told me to call the number they were calling from. Called the number to see what this was about and an Indian guy calling himself John Steve gave me a badge #, case # and informed me that the IRS had audited my 2007 - 2011 taxes and found them fraudulent with a due amount of $3,680. He continued to threaten me with arrest, law suit and termination of DL. I asked him if he had noticed who my employer was on my tax returns was, my job/position or if he had caller id to see the number I was calling from since I work for the federal government as an auditor. I informed him that I had recorded the conversation and had issued a trace on the call. He hung up.

Bummer about the call; but your response is epic! I have gotten 3 calls (so far) from 2 different numbers. The first 2 were the one in the post here (504-275-7809) and were "warning" calls. Got one today from 205-260-8105 stating it was "officially a final notice from IRS, Internal Revenue Service." Unfortunately for them, I worked for a CPA firm for more than 15 years and know that the IRS never calls without sending "snail mail" first.
