If you don't mind I will avoid taking financial advice from those who sit on their hands and wait for lenders to call before paying toward their installment loans, and then come running to a mystery caller site to file sunny testimonials. In my experience, "work with them" is a euphemism for surrender to a fraudulent business.
Crescent Bank and Trust.is a subprime auto lender. Either acting alone or with its subsidiary Crescent Recovery, LLC, it's typical of the breed in attracting numerous complaints of thug-like collection behavior, including excessive calls per day, harassing relatives and workplaces, hounding borrowers who were not late, telling borrowers their cashed checks never arrived, being trigger happy with repo men, and jerking around borrowers who "call them back and work with them".
At the end of 2009 Crescent was sued in a class action for larding on illegal fees, interest, and penalties to car notes it had gathered from dealerships nationwide. The FDIC shuttered it as a failure in July 2010, and Renasant Bank of Mississippi was there to scoop up the assets. Previously Crescent had been tanking as a mortgage and residential development lender.
