Because you answered the call, the "robocall" system likely marked you as a potential target for future tries at scamming you. Normally, I let my voicemail answer these scumbags. But do note my encounter with the same tribe of scammers that I'm sure called you.
It's an identity theft scam---aim is to get your credit card, bank checking or savings account information. Some cheerfully gushing bimbo comes up with this "Our records show you recently stayed at one of our resorts...." then gushes on to offer you some lame prize and goes on, saying: " all that's needed is for her to ask "a few simple questions before I connect you to one of our representatives...." Oh, she's giddy, flippy and happy......right up till when you ask her WHICH RESORT her records show you stayed at. Ah, there's trouble with her caller headset; like some robot, she repeats her question. Ask her what company she's calling for....and she again, has "static in my headset" and again asks your consent to answering "just three questions". Even though my caller ID says the call is from "New Orleans" ( I don't know anyone from Louisiana ), I had to have some fun with this ditzy bimbo: I tell her my Caller ID first noted she's calling from New Orleans....but NOW, it's flashing the call is coming from CANADA!!! I begin to ask her why she's calling ME from Canada? Boom---she hangs up. Next time, I'll just let my voicemail service handle such calls.
