Call just came in on my cell. No ID, so I didn't answer it. Here's how I handle these. I created a contact on my cell phone called SCAMMER and when I get one of these calls I add the number to my SCAMMER contact. I can add dozens of phone numbers to the same contact. Not sure what the limit is, but if I run out I'll just create SCAMMER2. I have that contact set to go directly to voice mail. If I ever get a call from that number again my cell phone won't even ring. So far no one has left a voice mail. Seems to be working.
I have been getting calls from these people for a couple of years. I have notified the local police, state AG, FBI, and the FCC and they cant seem to do anything to this company. So if I happen to answer I go ahead and punch through to speak to the rep then I do my best to cuss them out with the nastiest possible words that come to mind. Maybe their 'reps' will get tired of responses, quit, and find a real job.
Called about lowering credit card rate. I pushed 1 and was transferred. Gentleman on the other end was nice but indicated he didn't know what type of card I had and wanted my account number and 1-800 customer service number to contact my bank about lowering my interest rate. Very suspicious. I wasn't comfortable then hung up. I received two follow up calls ( I didn't answer) from 718-565-9999 (NY) no voice mail left.
