Class action attorneys work on contingency, only. No person filing a class action lawsuit pays any attorney fees. The fees are paid by the company being sued, if the case is won.
With all due respect, "epp" a lawsuit bases on this premise would never stand. The phone companies are providing a service (true) and their service does work. You can make and receive calls, correct? I don't know about your phone company, but mine never promised to protect me from unsolicited calls. This is an issue for the FBI, or Consumer Affairs or the FTC...what these entities are doing is harassing us, which is a criminal offense - a misdemeanor at best. If they are lucky enough to come across someone who believes the bullcrap they are peddling, and they take advantage of them, then things change and the criminal charges go to the next level. IF they are caught, which is highly unlikely because of the methods they use (spoofing #s). I'm sure these crooks are very clever, and can work around getting caught. Sooner or later they will slip up, but unfortunately there will be 100 new thieves to take the place of that one who was caught.
Got a call on 30mar16 @ 12.10pm on home#. Caller id shows "DO NOT USE" and "504-383-0493". Robocall about business loans.

Illegal telemarketer calling using robocalls to push for a business loan scam. The numbers they are using are either MagicJack extensions or are just plain forged. They keep calling my personal cell phone which is also on the Federal DoNotCall list, so they are breaking several laws regarding telemarketing.
The main "company" behind this coldcall scam (at least with the dozen or so calls I receive per week) is out of Irvine/Costa Mesa, California. The fellow goes by the name Jeff Mosley FWC Funding 949-529-5980 in Costa Mesa CA. though the CEO is also known as Marc S. Shenkman.
I've called him up in person and told him I was reporting him for his illegal marketing tactics and he basically just flipped me off and hung up.
The scammer who called just now claimed he was calling out of Brooklyn, NY but the office is located near Irvine, CA.
